Embrace Music Foundation

The mission of Embrace Music Foundation is to restore, preserve, and fortify the impact of music — education, appreciation, and performance — in schools and communities and to amplify its role in the development of children and families.

Music has become vulnerable and endangered by its removal from school curricula. Through programs such as Rhythms of Africa/Music Around the World, Embrace Music Foundation unites children with musicians, instructors, and local business and community leaders to keep the arts alive and vibrant. These programs offer youngsters opportunities to appreciate music in new ways and to discover alternatives to craft their careers and lives.

Our founding attorney, Mr. Greg McFarlane has been a proud member of the Foundation Board for the last three years. He is part of the program that provides free after- school music classes for at-risk youth. The children are trained for several months, after which the Foundation (with the barest of budgets) puts on a concert consisting of international recording artists, singers, and players of instruments who perform with the kids. The kids are the star of the show.

As partners in this commendable service to the community, Mr. McFarlane and The McFarlane Firm are honored to be part of a program that enhances the lives of children and those who care about them. According to Mr. McFarlane: “It’s one of the things of which I am most proud.”
